FAQ

Q&A

Will my health insurance cover therapy?

Please check with your insurance provider to ensure that counselling with a Registered Clinical Counsellor is covered. Each plan is different and some counsellors may be able to directly bill your plan. If you have an ICBC claim, Jennifer can direct bill.

How do I book an appointment?

Booking has never been easier. You can contact your counsellor directly or book using the online calendar by clicking here.

Will Westshore ever ask for money outside of payment for an appointment?

NO-NEVER. If you receive a request for money or gift cards from Westshore Counselling or any of the counsellors - IT IS A SCAM. We will never ask for money on behalf on behalf of a client or anyone else. Sometimes, scammers will ask for money through to an email address that is close to a counsellors email address - do not send them them anything.  If you are ever asked - please let us know and report to RCMP.

Are in person sessions offered?

Yes. We offer in-person, online video calls, and phone counselling depending on your preference.

What are your office hours?

The office is open for appointments 7 days a week 9am- 8pm and each Counsellor has a different schedule. Please contact your counsellor or visit the Online Booking Calendar to view booking availability.

What is the cost of counselling?

Please visit the Counsellors Page for prices as rates vary depending on the counsellor and their credentials.

How is payment made?

There are multiple ways to pay. You can pay cash at your appointment, Etransfer in advance, or book online and have your counsellor charge your credit card.

What is the cancellation policy?

Please provide 48 hours notice when cancelling an appointment as your counsellor should be able to rebook your appointment. After 48 hours, refunds will not be given.

Are therapy sessions confidential?

Confidentiality is very important to the process of counselling and very important to your counsellor. However, there are some limits to confidentiality that will be explained in your first session.

How do I prepare for my first session?

Your first appointment is the perfect time for you and your counsellor to get to know one another and discuss the reasons for therapy. To prepare, mull over some counselling goals, bring paper and a pen, and be yourself. Your counsellor wants to gain insight into your situation and who you are so they may best suit your counselling needs.

Is group therapy offered?

Not right now but check back. We do offer groups occasionally.

Where is the office?

We are moving!

Currently we are at #204-2780 Veterans Memorial Parkway but soon we will be at #211-2840 Peatt Road - right above Rhino Coffee.
